About Jupiter
Jupiter (JUP) is the governance and utility token of Jupiter, a decentralised exchange aggregator built on Solana. The platform routes trades across multiple onchain liquidity sources — including automated market makers, order books and lending protocols — to give users improved execution prices on token swaps without manually checking each venue.
The aggregator covers a wide range of Solana-based decentralised applications and supports advanced order types including limit orders and dollar-cost averaging schedules. A perpetual futures venue and a launchpad framework extend the platform beyond simple swaps, making it a frequently used entry point for both casual users and sophisticated traders within the Solana ecosystem.
JUP holders participate in onchain governance, voting on protocol parameters, treasury allocations and product direction through a structured proposal process. The token also supports staking and ecosystem-wide reward programmes. Within the broader landscape, Jupiter is one of the highest-volume decentralised exchange aggregators on any chain, illustrating how meta-routing layers can capture significant trading activity even without operating their own liquidity pools.
Why Jupiter Matters
Decentralised exchange aggregators route trades across multiple onchain liquidity venues to improve execution prices, sitting one layer above individual automated market makers and order book systems. Jupiter occupies this position within the Solana ecosystem, alongside derivatives and launchpad products. Readers tracking how trading infrastructure develops on high-throughput chains can explore broader trends across crypto and Web3.
