About Ondo
Ondo (ONDO) is the governance token of the Ondo Foundation, an organisation focused on bringing tokenised real-world assets (RWAs) on chain. The project develops protocols and structured products that aim to give onchain users access to instruments traditionally limited to regulated financial markets, including short-duration U.S. Treasuries and money market exposures.
The ONDO token allows holders to participate in protocol governance, voting on parameter changes, product launches and ecosystem direction. Ondo's product suite includes tokenised Treasury offerings and yield-bearing instruments designed to plug into decentralised finance applications, where they can be used as collateral or held as cash-equivalent positions onchain.
The wider Ondo ecosystem connects custody, fund administration and onchain settlement, working with regulated entities to maintain compliance with applicable securities frameworks. Within the broader landscape, Ondo operates at the intersection of traditional finance and crypto infrastructure, contributing to a category of protocols that focus on bringing institutional-grade assets into programmable, blockchain-based environments.
Why Ondo Matters
Tokenisation projects bring traditional financial instruments — including Treasuries, equities and credit products — onto blockchain rails, where they can settle in minutes and integrate with decentralised applications. Ondo sits within this category, alongside other protocols building infrastructure for tokenised real-world assets. Readers tracking how this segment develops can explore broader trends across tokenisation.
