Amazon Is Putting A Hundred Billion Dollars Into New Data Centres

  • Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) has announced they will invest $100B USD into developing new data centres to expand both their cloud computing and artificial intelligence computing infrastructure

  • Currently, Amazon already has 216 new data centres that are expected to be operational within the next few years

  • Amazon has also been acquiring data centre campuses recently, including a Pennsylvania based data centre which is powered entirely by nuclear energy
  • One of the largest private investment companies in the world Starwood Capital previously announced they would launch a purpose built fund exclusively for the construction and development of data centres aiming to host GPUs for artificial intelligence cloud computing
